TAPE questionnaire
The questionnaire has been developed by the TAPE partners to gather information on the management of audiovisual collections in a variety of institutions in Europe. All organizations that hold audiovisual collections are invited to send in any information they may have on their audiovisual materials. The information will be used for publications on the audiovisual heritage in Europe that will be widely distributed and for developing training activities.

Languages
The questionnaire is available in eight languages. You can print out a PDF of the language of your choice, fill out the form and send it to the address at the bottom of the last page. It may be even easier to fill out the form (in any of the languages) on the web. The web forms quickly guide you through the questions by skipping those that are not relevant for your collections. It also enables you to print out for every section the questions plus your responses and keep them for future reference. When you have submitted your replies using the web form, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement.

Organization of the questionnaire

As 'audiovisual' is an umbrella term for a variety of materials, this questionnaire includes a number of similar questions for different classes of materials. It is subdivided into separate sections for film, audio and video, preservation, digitization and cataloguing. In this way you can easily identify the sections most relevant for your institution. Many of the questions are multiple-choice to help you fill out the list quickly.

Different topics
As the questions range over a number of topics, we realize it may be difficult for one person to answer them all. If you do not have colleagues who can help, please do not hesitate to submit only the information that you do have available. All responses are most welcome, even if the questionnaire is only partially filled out. In most cases you can indicate where data are not (readily) available. Additional documentation: We welcome background documents that provide information on your audiovisual collections, or other publications we should take into account. Any comments, in whatever form, would be most appreciated.
